Tequila Barrel Aging Programs

At Tequila Trading Partners (TTP), we help partners access one of the most valuable stages of tequila production: barrel aging.

Through our network of distilleries and aging facilities in Mexico, we manage tequila aged in 200-liter American oak barrels for brands, investors, importers, and hospitality groups seeking future premium inventory.

As tequila matures, it gains more character, complexity, and market value.

Tequila Aging Categories

Under CRT and NOM-006-SCFI-2012 standards, barrel-aged tequila can be classified as:

  • Reposado — aged 2 to 12 months
  • Añejo — aged 1 to 3 years
  • Extra Añejo — aged more than 3 years

TTP helps partners secure tequila early in the aging cycle and guide it into these premium categories.

Our Barrel Programs

Our programs can include:

  • Sourcing Blanco tequila for aging
  • Filling and storing barrels in certified facilities
  • Barrel tracking and inventory reporting
  • Long-term aging management
  • Bottling or bulk sale at maturity

This allows partners to secure inventory today and create higher-value aged tequila over time.

Why Barrel Aging Matters

Barrel aging is more than a production step — it is a long-term value strategy.

Key advantages include:

  • Greater scarcity over time
  • Strong demand for aged tequila
  • Limited barrel capacity in the market
  • Higher value in premium categories

Flexible for Different Partners

TTP supports barrel programs for:

  • Tequila brands
  • Importers and distributors
  • Investors
  • Hospitality groups

Programs can start with a small number of barrels or expand into larger aging inventories.

From Barrel to Bottle

Once the tequila reaches its target age, TTP can also support:

  • Bottling programs
  • Private label launches
  • Bulk aged tequila sales
  • Export logistics and compliance

Our goal is simple: help partners build value through properly managed tequila aging programs in Mexico.
